Basic & Intermediate
openLCA Modelling Certified Training
EPD Egypt provides training courses for openLCA in both Arabic and English for the first time! We offer two standards-certified training courses provided by openLCA: Basic and intermediate (basic training is a prerequisite) level for beginners and intermediate-level practitioners. Training sessions will take place online (on-site sessions can be arranged as per the request of the trainee group).
openLCA, developed by GreenDelta, is a powerful, free-of-cost Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Footprint software offering a wide range of functions and comprehensive databases with the following features:
- Fast and precise calculation of LCA
- In-depth insights into results
- visualizing and mapping results
- Effortless import/export for seamless model sharing
- Integration of Life Cycle Costing and social assessment (specific training will be required)
- User-friendly interface with multilingual support
All courses contain both theoretical and practical parts, based on illustrative case studies. The training contains the following topics:
Theoretical:
- LCA Overview and basics
- Goal & Scope
- LC inventory basics
- Insights of impact assessment methods
Practical:
- Introduction to openLCA
- First steps and basic functions
- Available data and data exchange
- Import and export databases and datasets
- Creating processes and flows
- Creating product systems and projects (Comparisons LCAs)
- LCIA Methods
- Resources for openLCA
All courses contain both theoretical and practical parts, based on illustrative case studies. The training contains the following topics:
Theoretical:
- Allocation
- Sensitivity Analysis
- Impact assessment methods
- Normalization, Weighting, Grouping
Practical:
- Modeling with parameters
- Sensitivity analysis (working with parameters)
- Allocation and system expansion
- End-of-life modeling (basics)
- Data quality in openLCA
- Useful tips and tricks for openLCA
- Available database in openLCA Nexus
openLCA started training others to be certified and to be able to give the training in their language, as Dr. Nasser Ayoub was certified by openLCA in the Middle East.

The training fees and the bank details will be sent after registration.
Note: each training (beginner and intermediate) has an independent fee.
- The training sessions are in Arabic.
- The training material is in English.
- Online training seats are limited to 5-10 people.
- On-site training seats are limited to 10-15 people.
- Hybrid training (Online and on-site) seats are limited to 15 people.
