Types of EPD
-
Single-company, single-product EPD
The standard and most common type of EPD is the single-company product-specific EPD, based on a valid PCR and describing the life cycle environmental impact of one product from a single company.
It provides details about one product created by one manufacturer, even if the product is produced across multiple factories. If a manufacturer creates the same product across different sites and these products aren’t marketed differently or distinguishable by customers, they can be included in this EPD type.

Group EPDs
Products that are alike and produced by the same manufacturer can be part of a multiple-product EPD.
If these similar products are made at one or more manufacturing sites following the same rules (PCR), by the same company, and through similar major steps in their core processes, they can be grouped in the same EPD.
